Rachel Horwitz is a dynamic, innovative Learning and Development leader with extensive experience developing integral strategies utilized to meet business goals and initiatives. Over the course of her career, she has been a trusted partner, successfully cultivating global cross functional teams, collaborating with senior executives to identify and solve performance issues, implementing proven business strategies, and building effective knowledge platforms to support associate development. Rachel builds key relationships and partnerships and brings the business knowledge and passion that elevates awareness of developing and building talent as an integral component of business growth and success.
Most recently, Rachel was the Global Learning and Development Director at Convatec, a global medical products and technologies company focused on therapies for the management of chronic conditions, leading in advanced wound care, ostomy care, continence and critical care, and infusion devices. There, she built a global Learning and Development function, defining the strategy, building a global team, defining success metrics, building curriculum and leveraging learning technologies to support solutions. She partnered with the executive leadership team to develop a high performing leadership team and launched and deployed a program to the top 100 high potential employees.
Previously, Rachel was the Global Learning and Development Director at Mars Incorporated, a multinational manufacturer of confectionary, pet food, and other food products. At Mars, she designed, developed and facilitated blended learning initiatives supporting Mars Digital Transformation strategy for more than 10,000 global associates. Rachel led global upskilling for a breakthrough global traceability project aligned with new processes, systems, job descriptions and ways of working. She led the team in putting in place rigorous learning metrics to establish the business and learning impact, and successfully developed and implemented a learning design center of expertise to create high quality learning across a global curriculum while also redesigning Mars University curriculum to include various digital learning platforms. Rachel also held the role of Global Curriculum Design Director at Mars.
Prior to Mars, Rachel also held Human Resources roles at Estee Lauder Companies, Coty Incorporated, and BBDO.
Rachel was the recent article contest winner for the E-learning Learning article, The Future of Learning is Short. She was a Keynote Speaker at the Chief Learning Officer Exchange and a DevLearn Conference Presenter in 2019.
Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland and a Master in Industrial Labor Relations and Human Resources Management from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business in New York. She is Certified in Prosci Change Management and ATD Advanced Certified in Designing Learning and Designing Virtual Learning.
